I think it is a checkpoint inhibitor.

But you raise an interesting point about the control being a (currently) unapproved drug.

Unusual yes, but I suspect that there may be precedents. As such, I guess this cannot be a P3, which I initially thought.

The other thing I would say is that we know that DCVaxL is safe, and doesn't cause SAE's. Whereas we don't know that about the checkpoint inhibitors. I think there is a lack of evidence that ICI's don't cause HPD in GBM. They do in just about every other cancer at anything between 5-25%. And then there is the auto-immune toxicities.

Just a personal view, but it concerns me that Liau/Prins team are getting caught up in the general enthusiasm for all things combo.
