Share reduction does impact how it trades, so not a psychological effect. And yes, I'd rather trade a stock with 500m common than a billion. The shares can be converted back, but usually there is a time restriction on that.

Like i said before, getting clients to pay to improve their credit isn't like selling coffee at the Starbucks. That's why the partnerships with lenders is important. Only time will tell if these deals lead to clients, so if you want it now, I'd go ahead ahead and sell.
