Windows 7 update ARRRGGHHH!! I just spent the last hour+ trying to undo the last windows update that totally screwed up my computer.
computer would boot up normally, but wouldn't open any browser. Task manager would open, but then couldn't close it.
(weird because the mouse pointer moved normally, so computer wasn't "frozen", just unresponsive to any action)
wouldn't even shut down! Just sit there forever saying, "shutting down"
It was also very unresponsive in safe mode, although I was able to open two programs, eventually.
tried a system restore from safe mode, and it sat there for 20 minutes "preparing"
arrgghhh
finally, in normal mode I was able to system restore. I'm just now testing things. So far, it seems like it's back to normal.
I thought my hard drive was going (it's a 2011 laptop) so it's do for a replacement soon.
