The SEC also alleges that in 2016, the defendants pumped up Green Cures's stock price and trading volume through a promotional campaign, including false and misleading press releases and thousands of emails, text messages, and posts on investor bulletin boards.

Interesting. Though I believe the fake press releases began to be a problem in late 2017 or early 2018. So I think this bunch were cooking up the "misleading" emails on the orders of the Man Behind the Curtain.
