Disclaimer. What I’m getting ready to discuss is what I remember from my visit to LaCoste in April. I didn’t take notes and I’m no expert in RAS systems. This is how I remember it and if I’m incorrect then I will apologize in advance. I don’t think I’m wrong or I wouldn’t post this info.

There was the one huge one....it is the one that is their prototype after years of refining the technology.

Gerald said they had figured out that they don’t need it to be as big as that one so the newest units are substantially more compact and have a smaller footprint.

There were two that showed up the day we were there. These are the newer iteration and cost @$70K apiece.

Gerald said they are going to get some units that are slightly larger than the ones they just got because they decided to modify the tank size from 65,000 to 90,000 gallons. These units are a little more pricey and I believe he said they will cost @$90K per.

Keep in mind. You don’t need one EC per tank. One EC can run multiple tanks. These guys know what they are doing and they have broken the code in this shrimp-raising process.

I’m sure they will continue to refine and tweak improvements in as they go. That’s how things work.
