IMO your scenario is more probable than not. Check out the six moth chart of AMRN. they(BB) could have bought a ton in early Jan and sold in late March for a nice profit.

Whats to have stopped them from selling 1MM shares and buying 1.617MM shares in that duration to maintain the stock price at a level that benefitted their interests?
