Now I've seen it all. This "little known fact" isn't a fact at all. I've explained a number of times that when a utility decides they need a cap bank in a substation for voltage support, they put one there. They've done that for decades. They know what to do and do it very well.

This company is peddling a hoax, yes, a warmed over scam. All this BS about "recycling wasted energy" that returns to the utility unused, that video of amps going down running this thing in parallel with unloaded motors (ie - intentionally misleading horrible power factor) is all to perpetuate the hoax and sell stock. These units will never sell to anybody and, before it is brought up, nobody will want them for free. I can see it now, "hey, Mr. Utility, we put a PAS unit over there and now we want you to pay us for the recycled electricity." Utility rep: "LOL. You're joking, right? We didn't ask you to do that, and we don't need you to do that, we couldn't care less."

Edited to add: "Negative power can certainly be defined, it's just not a term used in T & D, and wasn't what the post meant that I replied to."
