Outstanding analysis, nidan.

When the convergence takes place...no words will describe it, just watch and think of it this way: Powerful video at end! (If it loads):

I live in a city where two small(er) but very swift rivers (the Allegheny, runs down from the mountains, and the Monongahela flows from northern West Virginia on the Allegheny Plateau) join together and form the Ohio River which is wide, deep, swift, and courses a long way in its own right before it feeds into the Mighty Mississippi.

The rapid flow of events which you describe can no more be avoided or averted or slowed to a trickle, than the confluence of major natural forces. The dam absolutely has to burst. It just needs timing...first big rainfall or snow melt of the season, we will swell and overflow the banks.

In Pittsburghese that means: don’t park on the Mon wharf...your car will disappear in a flood.

God Willing and the Creek don’t rise, we will see the convergence of all the good things you noted: healthier people - old and young, more prosperous economies, more streamlined drug approval processes, and more, and it will be beautiful.

Actually, the fountain at The Point, where the three rivers join at the Head of the Ohio, is a beautiful sight to behold.

Thanks for the sensible post. In return:

Here’s some video to enjoy!

(My brother’s “office”. Better than a high corner with a skimpy view. He’s River Rescue and this is from a drone. Very nicely done, imo.
Been on this boat many times - not a shabby ride!)

Sports fans, look sharp!
(mapman, you can almost picture the Buccos losing...lol! And powerwalker, you will NEVER see Heinz Field this empty except here!)

From aircraft to watercraft, all good. We got this!
