When I entered engineering school the Dean spoke with the freshman class. One thing I remembered was him discussing hiring engineers. He indicated he'd hand them a wood pencil and ask if they could prove they could break it. The ones he was interested in simply snapped the pencil in half with their hands.

I mention this because I wonder if the same thing wouldn't apply to the FDA. What if instead of a SAP and a ton of other paperwork you introduced all who were interested to the 80+ people out of 331 who entered the trial and believed they'd be dead in a couple years who are now alive almost 4 years to perhaps ten or more. Do we really have to hit people over the head with a ton of paperwork when their eyes could tell them the entire story.

I know it can't be that easy, the question should be, why not?
