These guys are called “NOUVEAU RICHE”
And stories like this happens all the time.

People don’t know how to handle money because they never had any.

There were a lot of stories in Alberta in the oil fields, people who have money for the first time go crazy and lose it all.

Similar to those who win a lottery, high percentage of lottery winners end up broke within a couple of years
