I'll issue a small SHMP mea culpa and rephrase a question previously asked: If you've heard of "natural" beef and "natural" pork, do you know that the adjective only means what USDA says it means? And it's equally meaningless when applied to SHMP shrimp.

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/hormel-lawsuit-reveals-natural-meat-070020164.html

When someone bags a feral cow or feral hog and processes it without ANY preservatives apart from freezing, I'll consider that "natural", provided that said feral swine or feral bovine did not get into a farmer's GMO corn crop, or drink from a municipal water supply that contains traces of antibiotics, caffeine, and myriad other chemical and pharmaceuticals that are consumed by its customers and ultimately flushed down the loo. Or drinks from rivers and streams that serve as the outlets for waste water treatment plants serving said consumers of antibiotics and Starbucks.

Raising domesticated cattle and hogs is about as "natural" as raising shrimp in an aquarium. USDA may disagree, and they get the final say, but common sense says otherwise.
