I used to actively trade futures (primarily copper). I found technical analysis (TA) very helpful - but not bulletproof - when trading commodities.
I firmly believe that TA has its place, but believe it is primarily a study in human herd behavior. The fact is, in these very thinly traded equities, TA is far from a science. I look at it, but don't place much stock (pun intended) in it.
TA is a much more reliable indicator when it is done on stocks with significant trading volume, IMHO.
