A quick Google search turns up a number of recipes for veggie pâté, and some links to stuff you can buy. So without knowing what was in the kind you ate, it'd be hard to run down.

Some of it isn't pâté at all; they're more like hummus, but made with beans or similar legumes. And of course not all are vegan; many are just vegetarian.

I'd heard of the concept in the past, but I've never tried any, except for one of the hummus types, made with cannellini. It's good, but I wouldn't think of it as a pâté. Easy to make.

Perhaps the most convincing ones would be those made with mushrooms.
