Srains, I think you have assumed too much by asserting that Boeing was "hiding" the MACS.

Better, I think that Boeing was unaware of the extent to which the MACS would operate and control the aircraft.

I, too, think that Boeing should have not advertised the aircraft to airlines as so similar to the previous 737 models that simulator flight time was either not necessary or should have been at a minimum.
