Yessir. My only point is that carbohydrates aren't all bad.

I think the only conclusion that can be drawn from the literature on diet is that there is no single diet that is right for everyone, and that few "all good" or "all bad" foods depending on context. Even a nasty sugary snack can be just the thing to support an athlete in the middle of a 300-mile ride.

Except for bacon of course, which is probably all bad but delicious anyway.

Now I have to go for a ride to work off that coke I just drank.
