My review of Last Night's Show
We had top 40 solos to get down to top 20 by the end of the night. tonight the top 20 perform as we get it down further.
1) Alyssa- I thought she was solid, with a decent performance. Now I will say it is not a high degree of difficulty song to sing, but it was executed well from the vocal to the performance. Overall I think she should go through and the judges agreed.
2) Madison- Once again sang very well and is one of my favorites, and is a no brainer to go through. And the judges put her through.
3) Myra- She has ability, but at the same time she always overdoes it, and doesn't know how to control/use her gift wisely in my opinion. She is too unpolished for me to put through and this performance was a bit all over the place. The judges don't put her through.
4) Logan- He can sing, and sang part in spanish. I thought the vocal was solid and would put him through, and the judges did just that by putting him through.
5) Nate- Overall I think he did and okay job, the problem is you see the wheels turning during the performance and that takes away. I was on the fence, leaning towards a no. And the Judges don't put him through.
6) Dimetrius- A little overdone with his performance, but he can flat out sing, and in my opinion should go through. And the judges put him through.
7) Ashley- I didn't love the song, and the first half of that song wasn't perfect to say the least, got better in the second half. Needs to pick better songs for her talent, but I would put her through because I see enormous potential, and have seen it before in previous performances. The judges put her through.
8) Drake- I don't love his tone and think his vocal was not great, so I wouldn't put him through. The judges go ahead and don't put him through.
9) Kai- She was unclear and completely all over the place. I would send her home and the judges agree.
10) Laci- She can flat out sing, Unique tone, but I do like it. A no brainer for me to go through, and the judges put her through.
11) Nick- Not the greatest tone, but he just has a okay voice and a okay vocal. I was on the fence leaning towards sending him home. The judges don't put him through.
12) Walker- I don't love his tone all the time, but he can sing, not perfect, but he would go through if it was up to me as there was enough there. The judges put him through.
13) Ryan- In my opinion has one of the best voices in the competition and is a no brainer to go through in my opinion. The judges put him through.
14) Kate- I don't like her voice, I had a strong dislike to how she did that song, the way she did it as well. I would not put her through. Yet the judges do. Sometimes I think these shows all of them love something different, just because it is different doesn't mean it is good in my opinion.
15) Evelyn- She has a deep voice, and a unique/weird style. some people are gonna like her and some people are not. I lean on liking her, but if someone told me she was terrible I would understand even though I disagree. I would put her through and the judges put her through.
16) Emma- From what I heard she can sing, but she is missing something. probably should of made the top 20, based on a few people that got through that I didn't agree with. But she didn't get through.
17) Uche- This guy is the crazy performer type they always throw one or two of these through every contest. His vocal/voice is decent, I'm not really into this over done stuff, but to be fair if I have to pick 20 he would of been part of it. As I was on the fence, leaning towards a yes. Judges put him through.
18) Alejandro- It was better than normal, not his biggest fan, but I did like the end of the song. I have to be honest I still wouldn't put him through, but judges disagree with me and put him through.
19) Jeremiah- In my opinion he can sing, and should go through. The judges put him through.
20) Shay- She sounded pitchey and was off a lot of the song. She should not go through in my opinion. And the judges send her home.
21) Riley- Don't love her tone, had one of the worst vocal I heard during the show. And they inexplicably sent her though.
22) Raquel- I didn't like how she sang that song, and thought the vocal was just okay at best. wouldn't put her through. Yet the judges put her through.
23) Shaun- Another not so great vocal, with a not so great tone. Yet judges put him through. Disagree here as well.
24) Bumbly- Didn't hear enough of her voice, but from what I did here I didn't like it. So would lean on not putting her through, yet they did put her through.
25) Wade- Has a unique sound. I was on the fence after his vocal, but he sings with a lack of clarity that I don't love. I would probably lean towards yes based on I have to fill 20 spots, and there was a lot I want to take out of the top 20.
26) Margie- One of the worst vocals we heard all night. she shouldn't go through. And the judges don't put her through.
27) Eddie-Another not so great vocal, I would send him home. Yet he stays.
28) Laine-He is rock solid and has been throughout the process, that performance was no different, he should go through without a doubt and he does go through.
29) Tyler- Had to go based on the choice. he has a decent voice, should of been part of the top 20 in my opinion, but at the same time I think I can find 10 people better than him, so hard to say anything too negative.
Overall: I would of changed some choices, truth be told I don't think there was 20 singers worth fighting for. And I don't think they messed up by eliminating someone that I thought was a real contender so there's that. Tonight the 20 sing again, the good news is there are still numerous people to cut hopefully they cut the right ones in my opinion.
