There is no way, even the high-end manufactures that have retail outlets can't get that much! (My mom used to work with several on special order upholstery.)

The 4% you state is definitely more in line. It doesn't matter what you sell or on what level, you are lucky to net 4% - 6%. And that is based on 30% gross, which is harder and harder to get these days. It used to be that you could 'double it & bill it', but with the rise in discount stores that is gone. Even those of us that sell wholesale to the construction industry have had to restructure our operations to survive.
