Pixelmags gets their money from the creation as a publisher, not by the readr app and how many people use It. If you use Pixelmags to create the digital magazine it works with whatever app people choose. Pixelmags distributes to all newsstands. Some of the magazines that u will see on apple+ / texture were digitally created by Pixelmags technology. Imo i could give 2 shiz if people use the readr app or not.
