Before I read the book, I had thought that Pat was just a knucklehead machoman, but I left believing that he was a true intellectual with heroic integrity.
Of course, Into Thin Air was an awesome account of a horrible Mt. Everest debacle. I had to get ER Rx for frostbite when I finished that book.
