The Golan, and Syria I assume, are 1,000 to 3,500 feet higher in base elevation by being on the Arabian Rift Plate compared to Zion's MJ #1 location, west of the Jordan on the African Rift Plate.

This also figures into Genie's Ness well being on higher ground that is on the the Golan Heights.

At the joint of the two rift plates hydrocarbons are probably confined to their own rift plate rather than spanning across the rift plates in a vein, (typically). I'm hypothesizing here.

With that it seems to me that the oil veins or hydrocarbon deposits on each plate would be located at different drill depths, rather than similar depths across the rift.

I've often wondered if west of the Jordan on the African Rift Plate one might have to drill deeper, say 21,000 - 22,000 feet.

Your Thoughts?
