well, like you said
there are different ways to count Elliott waves. Ive found a few things I understand. The classic method taught is that a dominant direction will flow in 5 waves. with retrace as ABC (3 waves)
thats a good benchmark, but I find that the 5 wave movement more often than not stretches into 7 waves and sometimes 9 waves. .they can be called subwaves as well. I often see 7 waves. and right now AVXL is starting its 7th wave on the chart you can count 5 already that reached 3.12, wave 6 sideways in the last week or so, and now wave/subwave 7 to the next level.

On the weekly chart might look sharper or not for a wave count.similar or somewhat different.
I combine the Elliott pattern with the Fibonacci math targets to see how well they dovetail or not. I like the combination.
