Money management? whats that?

well, I would like to be sensible about the baby bio investments and NOT own Too Much. but I failed that balance last year. I own too much AVXL and IPIX and need to trim when it suits me. I own a few gold and silver miners and they are balanced ok. I try to keep about 20-30 % cash /dry powder. I have my trading transaction measure set at high cost for shares that get transacted.
money management... I try to take some profit at strong technical target zones and buy the bottom target zones. I hold a good low cost core in AVXL and dont sell those shares. I do have a few trading shares to trim when the time comes at future rally peaks. Since I only own a few miners currently, I'm holding them mostly as buy and hold now. I hold about 25 % in gold and silver bullion (Sprott trusts/PSLV and PHYS)
I'll have the portfolio in better balance as soon as I can sell half my IPIX at 55 cents. and 1/3 AVXL at 4 dollars.
I'd like to discover some new stocks to buy if they look really good, but finding them is not my forte. I used to rely on stock pick newsletter subscriptions. I found AVXL in 2010/2011 from Patrick Cox's biotech subscription. WAY WAY too early. Ive suffered the long downwave roller coaster Twice in AVXL. from 2011 top to 2015 bottom and from the 2015 top to 2018 bottom.
I'm 63 years old, and willing to do some trading around a core.
I am looking at GDXJ as a basic vehicle for exposure in junior miners. though I own a few individual miners,PVG and CORVF for gold, SVM for silver and interested in AG at the right pullback. (6 dollars)
I havent been too sophisticated about rotating into and out of sectors. Thats a whole field of study and expertise. Ive gotten a little more lazy in recent years about due diligent research. I used to own 25 miners ....way too much. half of them collapsed to nothing. from 2012-2015 and still dead . painful lessons of Cartel manipulation .
