Anavex says that it is meant to counter a hostile take over, correct? Think about the future. Wouldn't a hostile takeover imply that a majority of common shares would be in the hands of the hostile owner? In such a case, is it not better that those hostile shares have no rights? Clearly the preferred shares can be used in many ways, so you are right about that.
