I learned the hard way, to either routinely backup bookmarks and saved passwords,

OR better yet

just know the location, and specific files for the bookmarks, passwords, form info etc. so I can quickly locate them from backup.

I had to transfer the entire backed-up profile folder into the new profile, because some file, somewhere was corrupted from the update, didn't know what.
