Not quite the same drug. It does work a lot faster and provides better control, "time in range".
It can control better, but that requires multiple dosing and better feedback to control a second meal time dose. Perhaps some can get better control with a single dose, but the trial did not show that and the PK variability makes it unlikely unless you have a sharp user who can self titrate well.
Kind of like a race car. They go faster, but with Joe OfficeWorker at the wheel they will not because he can not control it.
I always thought MNKD needed to be much more aggressive about finding a "system" to marry their dosing to the new electronic glucose monitoring systems.
As far as 'divers comment about having the inhaler out at the table, I always visualize an ex-hippie type saying "Hey dude, pass the bong"
