My last comment on this subject. So anyone who wants
a free shot, have at it. smile

but as someone who is working right now on the "microbiome organ" I don't have a problem at all with them calling it that. In many ways it has all of the functionality of an organ, and in fact it is sometimes referred to in the literature as an organ.

A collection of microorganisms is not an organ.

A company that fills its PRs with scientifically inaccurate creations does not inspire me. Rather, it offends me. If they're that sloppy, I'll place my money elsewhere. Specifically they need to understand the difference between a collection of microorganisms and organs.

They may turn out to be a miraculous investment, but one that I'll definitely miss.

Medical Definition of organ. : a differentiated structure (as a heart or kidney) consisting of cells and tissues and performing some specific function in an organism.

What is an organ in anatomy?
Organ, in biology, a group of tissues in a living organism that have been adapted to perform a specific function. In higher animals, organs are grouped into organ systems; e.g., the esophagus, stomach, and liver are organs of the digestive system.
