His skepticism, like mine, has been based in fact and reasoned analysis. There's nothing wrong with that.

100% agree that there is nothing wrong with skepticism. Hard to achieve on a daily basis but it should be our default stance toward any claims involving money, power or truths of higher orders.

However, I’d have to disagree that AF uses reasoned analysis. It’s the kind of rationality some guys who can string a couple of sentences together while projecting confidence sometimes display.

For example, judging based on the criteria of reasonable analysis, his “Biotech School: How to Spot Hidden Danger Signs in Clinical Trial Data” article was a crazy major pratfall. I know that was discussed here so I won’t go into a dissection now (though I may contribute something in a later post).

We are all subject to boneheaded mistakes, but lordamighty, give me a break. Especially since he exuded such unmitigated arrogance in the process:

Boys and girls, the bell has rung so please take your seats. In today's class, I'm going to teach you how to dig into clinical trial data to find the red flags...”

...that signal we shouldn’t trust teacher.

But I’m sure he still feels great about it because his negative takes on NWBO have been successful as propaganda. Nobody as intelligent as he is does something that mistake laden. Apparently he has other motivations besides a commitment to rationality and truth. And he’s been very successful pursuing them.

As far as Innis reaching out to AF, well, I guess we’ll see how smart Innis is.

As AF would say, Boys and girls, here’s a parable that LP and crew would be wise to take to heart:

(English with Spanish/English subtitles. This particular scene is benign, so not to worry, even though NBK as a whole is anything but benign).

I assume AF isn’t going to admit he’s wrong until FDA approval, if/when that ever happens. No need to pick up the snake until then, metaphorically speaking.

Bonus link: happened to see this recommended by YouTube along side the snake parable. Not directly related but does touch on commitment to truth — brilliant George Carlin extended riff on euphemisms:
