Though I believe the chances of a buyout in the near future or for that matter, a long time..are very slim...If there was a buyout it might very well not be one of the historical BPs...But one of the mega predators such as BRK or AMZN...They have the necessary fire power..

And before everyone starts screaming about Buffett never investing in a biotech...I would counter: AMRN will be a major earnings play and due to the fact they have the ideal drug to fend off generics..I see Buffett looking at this as more of a beverage play (Think Coca Cola) rather than a drug play...Only Vascepa will have a captive market of those CVD and degenerative disease patients who will be be consuming four one gram caps a day until death...

My confidence in saying there will be no buyout in the foreseeable future is that Amarin management also understands this. It is not impossible that one of the market giants (non BPs) does decide to jump the gun; but I would imagine they want to see the expanded label in place...At that point I could see a shootout between the leviathans and the price should be in the hundreds of dollars/share...

This is my bold prediction...
