Yes, this "sLimcell" battery was developed by Don Sadoway (MIT) and it has nothing to do with BMG. The author of that blog which you posted, I think was a little confused and over zealous. SLimcell, is a flexible, lightweight battery made of different polymers.

Now, Sadoway developed another, different, battery called "liquid metal" battery and is still working on this start up company called Ambri. Again, this battery had nothing to do with BMG. This was debated back in 2012 on this board. I think this is where that blog writer got confused as Sadoway invented both batteries.

So unless this blog writer knows something else Huawei is working on, I don't think this is BMG. If you have any other information, I would be glad to read it.

As an aside, Apple does have a patent for BMG collector plates in a fuel cell. Never materialized.
