Riluzole has been in use for years for ALS for which it has short-term (if any )benefits. I had my husbands neurologist prescribe it for my husband about five years ago and he has been on it ever since. Whether it has been of any benefit I couldn't really say but perhaps he would have deteriorated more rapidly without it. It certainly didn't produce any discernible improvements that I am hopeful for seeing with A2-73. I would say that the side effects also aren't discernible (liver function etc) has been fine over the years. As stated before he does have sleep problems, probably more related to his condition.
Having read up on Troriluzole, I'm not excited that it will have benefit for CNS conditions generally as it seems very similar to Riluzole - perhaps for Alz. Just my opinion. Still waiting for A2-73 for the Eureka moment
