There is little to no "clinical" evidence that ANY DS does anything beneficial - costs too much to run trials for something anyone can sell. Lyme has 3 forms, and one of them is bacterial - plus I was suffering from multiple other bacterial infections at the same time, 2 of which came from the same tick bite - when you are as sick as I was, nearly bedridden, you will try damn near anything to see if it helps improve your health. I'm reasonably sure that low dose of CS would have benefited me in the long run, but the side effects were intolerable - gave me worse herx reactions than any of the drugs I was being treated with - if you herx, you know whatever you're taking is doing something - bacteria release mycotoxins when they die, that's what makes you sick.
