It’s playing against the house!! I’m sure all brokers see how much is margin calls and they call the big boys like Vegas odds to make money of the retailer. It’s my theory at least when one stock is heavily margined how hard would it be to get huge shorts or buyers? It’s a win win for them they sell information and you take it in the shorts by either covering it or selling shares of what you have
