bikerider, If there is a large short position... that won't add to selling pressure. Essentially, all it would do is make the buying pressure even more intense. So all in all, it wouldn't have the effect of making the float seem larger. It would just mean a few hundred million more shares have to be covered (bought) w/out any corresponding sells. That's why short squeezes can run a stock up like gangbusters.
