I’ve been trading $spy exclusively for a few months and am getting my clock cleaned. You hold 5 seconds too long and you really get punished.

Biggest problem with some of the individual stock plays is liquidity induced bid/ask spreads. Sometimes you take such a huge haircut on the spread that it’s hard to overcome with price movement.

Going to try and stay away from the indexes and stick with individual equities this year. Thinking that will produce better results. I just neeed to be careful with liquidity because I was burned badly on both TRUP and STMP last year with winning positions that turned into losers because I couldn’t overcome the spread in my timeframe despite being ITM.
