the idea that the sec sends notice to a company because someone filed a complaint letter is complete and total nonsense.

Yet that idea seems to persist... A nefarious entity (commonly called a Short or someone with need of vengeance) files a complaint, and the SEC is somehow legally obligated to launch a full blown investigation. It always fits the pattern the innocent Microcrap scam stock is under unfair attack. Never is the idea considered - management violated securities laws, while fleecing SHs.

If only a Goog search was made on "SEC Enforcement Manual", and the pertinent sections actually read. Sigh.
