I have studied the patent for the Norris Flash File System (now referred to as MicroOS) and posted about it in #msg-1372863. There is absolutely not one shread of a claim of any security feature in the patent whatsoever.

NFFS/MOS is simply one way to write to non-volatile memory such as flash that involves the use of cache. It was filed in 1996 when the use of flash memory was in its infancy. I believe it has been completely irrelevant for several years.

The hype about it having some kind of potential to be a "global standard" was entirely false IMO.
