Thank you for posting an update on your portfolio. There are several similarities between our situations and I am about where you were 10 years ago maybe. Employment optional, young child, house wholly owned worth about a quarter of total net worth, about the same in cash and then 50% equites. I have yet to embrace gold though.

I understand your logic for 2x investments but don’t think I will be following you, preferring 0% ocf passive equities inside a former employers pension scheme which seems like a good deal to me. I may find them some use as a rebalancing tool though if we have a sizeable drawdown in order to maintain liquidity outside of pension wrappers.
