While we all sit around waiting for the paint to dry, I just noticed some recent patent filing activity (happened late December) on the company's application for "Generation of Dendritic Cells from Monocytic Dendritic Precursor Cells with GM-CSF in the Absence of Additional Cytokines."

The application was stuck in a state of "non-final rejection" by the USPTO from mid-summer, and the company has just submitted a follow-up, with some changes in support of reconsideration.

Of interest, they have added a component to the mix of "goo" used to mature the dendritic cells, specifically that the cell culture media is supplemented with "at least 1% animal or human protein." There are also some new claims added which go into more detail regarding the type of concentration of said proteins.

It's not much, but this is an encouraging sign that the company is continuing to refine its processes and pursue patent protection for the mechanisms that appear to be working.
