I differ a bit in that I draw only on the "income" side of my portfolio for living expenses. The "equity" side has been able to growth unfettered by my purchasing fetishes. smile

I guess that is why I keep the two sides segregated. I was nearing the point where I was going to spin off some cash from the equity side last Summer, 2018. Well the markets took care of that potential option by reducing the surplus cash nicely. Sort of "Good new; Bad News."

OT: There were some Veale's in the Cornwall area of SW England that may be ancestors but I've never been able to find the Atlantic crossing link. My direct line is well documented in Virginia starting in 1763 but parentage and lineage fades to oblivion earlier than that. Nearby in Virginia there are Veale's for 2 or 3 earlier generations but we haven't been able to connect the dots to be certain.
