"MMs often borrow shares very briefly". Yes that's my point. Most offend they short and cover it daily, little by little. And Im sure with the stinky pinks with Huge convertible debts coming they are not wanting to cover those open positions at all, if the company rolls over and gets delisted. Make money shorting it daily, and if you know the company is going to delist then never even have to cover some at all. Getting a two for one!!

All Im asking is what does someone do if they have an open short position on a company that is going private?
