This note strikes a chord. First, thank you, all of you! The work you all do, have done, is invaluable. From 1993-2000 I was a Market Maker on the floor of the CBOE. One of the equities I traded was a new, much maligned, disparaged, litigated against, quirky start up co-founded by a geeky guy, using outmoded World War Two radio technology (CDMA), named Irwin Jacobs. Yeah, Qualcomm. It was, split adjusted, .50 cents in 92. About a buck or two for the next several years. In about 1995/96, I stumbled on a “message board”/what was that/Silicon Investor. And you know what, a bunch of super smart electrical engineers, truely intrigued by this new/old CDMA thingee. The rest of the established world did all they could to prevent this disruptive threatening tech change. I lost a lot of money buying worthless options for years.....until about 1999. December 1999 that dollar stock was trading as high as about $85-$90 per share. My point, thanks for listening, was the ONLY peeps who believed, who understood!, were the message board “geeks” (that’s a compliment!), the truly smart, engaged, engaging, decent, willing, sharing people, who publicly figured it out. If only LU, when trading $70, would have bought out QCOM, when Q was 2. Oh wait! Glad they didn’t. Sometimes, good things come to those who wait. Long post, ... you guys here are awesome, I don’t know if you realize it....keep it up:) and thank you.
