Good post, but I don't know how you got this:

out of me saying,

that I consider my self to be my dog's provider, not his owner.

Every thing reminds me of a story.

Legendary Michigan State football coach, Duffy Dougherty, told a story of his wife tearfully saying "You love football more than you love me"

He thought about it for a few seconds and said. "But I love you more than basketball."
