Here is an interesting chart. I read someone earlier today who suggested the 5 period MA on the monthly chart. The context was watch for the current market action to return to the 5 period MA on the monthly and then short.

So I combined the 5 and the 12 MA's on the monthly SPX and indeed we just had a crossover...shaky ground indeed.
