Here's something that isn't too funny - a response from the Louisiana Dept of Natural Resources:

>Title 30:128 says: "No transfer or assignment in relation to any lease of minerals or mineral rights owned by the state shall be valid unless approved by the State Mineral Board."
In checking our Office of Mineral Resources records, I don't find a transfer or assignment of state lease mineral rights to Black Dragon Resources.

I'll keep looking - perhaps all their leases are for an interest only, and they are not recorded as the operator.
There may be a reason they went that way...tax purposes, perhaps.

We know they have a 22 1/2 % interest in the 1275 acre Hunter-Manning Lease of Spider field, and are likely not listed as an operator who pulled the permits.

Maybe the fact that pay royalties to the landowners keeps the landowner listed as the operator?

But, the word "Acquisitions" to me, anyway, suggests new ownership. Even at that, perhaps the original permittee remains listed as the operator.

Hillary's husband's quote ("Depends on what you mean by the word "is") comes to mind.

Oh well, next month I'm going to be eating Sixty Cheeseburgers and Thirty Hot DOgs. No, wait. I'll be eating Sixty Hot Dog and Cheeseburger sandwiches on buns. No, wait, Better Make that - my eating run rate at the end of next month will be at the Sixty Cheeseburger and Hot Dog Bun Equivalent rate.

I feel sooooooooooooooooooo much better now.

Happy Monday all!
