Anavex may be the 21st century version of "pencillin."

And, moreover, there appears little chance of evolving or induced Anavex 2-73 therapeutic “resistance.”

Bacterial resistance to penicillin began to appear almost immediately after it came into broad usage; a therapeutic reflection of the natural competitiveness of wild microbial populations.

Let’s see how chronic (long-term) dosing of Anavex 2-73 plays out. Will it lose efficacy or safety after long periods of therapy? Or, conversely, will lengthy dosing periods induce ever stronger more positive, and more enduring outcomes? Murine (lab rodent) data strongly suggest the latter.

Virtually all antibiotics induce microbial resistance; new antibiotics must continually be searched for. (Are we, then, nearing the end of the antibiotic era?)
