Try unblocking ads for the site that it happens on (if you're using Opera's ad-block)
I run into a similar "dark video" player problem with Opera, sometimes turning off the "Block Ads" fixes it --
click the numbered blue icon on the header/title bar and move the "Ads are blocked on this site" switch...
You may have to turn it back on afterwards unless there aren't too many ads on that site...
