WSJ: U.K.'s Serious Fraud Office investigates Acacia Mining

The U.K.’s Serious Fraud Office is investigating Barrick Gold (ABX -2.8%) subsidiary Acacia Mining (OTCPK:ABGLF) over allegations of corruption in Tanzania, WSJ reports.
The British probe into Acacia focuses around accusations that employees of the company, which was called African Barrick until 2014, bribed Tanzanian government officials and consultants, according to the report.
Acacia also is being investigated by Tanzanian officials over corruption allegations, and the interest of U.K. law enforcement marks a new level of scrutiny over the company and another headache for ABX.
