Chinese telecom equipment maker ZTE has hired former U.S. Sen. Joe Lieberman to carry out a national security review of its products to address ongoing concerns that the co. is a threat to U.S. national security, Politico reports.
• “There are obviously still concerns about the safety of their products or the extent to which their products could be used to compromise American security in any way or even individual security,” Lieberman tells Politico
• ZTE also has retained the lobbying services of two other former lawmakers, former Sen. Norm Coleman and former Rep. Jon Christensen.
