2010: Bruce Calkins announces that they will be taking deposits for the Neuera and that 40 units will be sold in 2011. Never happened.

2011: A test flight of the M400 was supposed to happen in October I think? Never happened. Moller spins this failure as a "good thing".

Then there was Thorntail. Lead by a group of highly respected aviation business people. Cannot remember the year. The "this time is different" songs were sung heavily on this one due to the resumes and supposed contacts of these people. Nothing came of this.

And lets not forget the ever elusive Freedom IPO that was going to happen "before year end" and "within weeks", year after year after year.

I remember my communications with a certain Ferrari driving millionaire early retiree property mogul every time a deal was announced.

I used to ask him what made him believe that the flavor of the year deal would happen. His response was always "Because Paul said so".

Then I would list him the previous failures and he would say "But this time is different".

Then I would tell him that he said it every year and he would say "never bet against a millionaire".

Finally when the deal fell through I would ask him, what now? And he would say "Don't ask me! Ask Paul!".

And the cycle would just begin over.

Good times.

I miss him...

The current fan base & "this time is different" crowd is way more aggressive. Just as willing to believe in these companies blindly and without question, but more aggressive. Not having so much fun with them...
