Management doesn't give a rat's ass about current shareholders; they care about future shareholders and will do what they have to in order to attract same. Having a higher share price and being on a higher tiered exchange accomplishes that. And it is easier to do a r\s than actually work harder to improve the profitability of the company with the natural increase in share price accordingly. No one cares about Joe Public as a shareholder except Joe Public and management will screw us in a heart beat.
